Examination Services

Lassen Library District provides educational and professional examination services via direct proctoring of college distance learning examinations and as an Authorized Pearson VUE Test Center.

College Distance Learning Examination Proctoring
Lassen Library will proctor your college distance learning coursework at no cost to you. College exam proctoring is available during the library's normal hours of operation.

The process for taking advantage of this service is:

• • Notify your college that you would like to take your exam at Lassen Library.
  • Your college will probably provide you with a form that, when filled out by you and the Library, will authorize Lassen Library to administer the exam.
  • Your college will send the Library either a written exam package or instructions for accesing their on-line examination site.
  • The Library will call you when the exam materials have been received to schedule an examination time for you.
  • After the examination is taken the Library will return the completed examination or examination completion notice to your college.

Professional Certification Examination Service
Lassen Library is a Pearson VUE Authorized Test Center. Our PearsonVUE ID is 69445.

Pearson VUE Test Center examinations are administered on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 9:30 am - 5:00 pm.

Lassen Library can administer many of the examinations Pearson VUE administers on behalf of more than 450 examinations sponsors worldwide. A complete list of offered exams can be found here: A-Z list of offered exams 

Examinations should be registered for via Pearson VUE (not the library test center) which will forward your access to the appropriate sponsor site. Got to Schedule an exam to learn more.

Most offered exams at Lassen Library are the GED and California CSET

California Subject Examinations for Teachers® (CSET®)
The California Subject Examinations for Teachers® (CSET®) program has been developed by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) for prospective teachers who choose or are required to meet specific requirements for certification by taking examinations. The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) is the sponsoring organization for the CSET exam and has contracted with Pearson VUE to assist in the development, administration, and scoring of the CSET.

High School Equivalency Tests (HSET)

California has approved the use of two high school equivalency tests, the GED® and the HiSET®, for students 18 years old and older, and 17 years old in some instances, for the purpose of receiving a California High School Equivalency Certificate. As a Pearson VUE Test Center Lassen Library offers the GED exam. The GED Testing Service is the sponsoring organization for the GED exam and has contracted with Pearson VUE to assist in the development, administration, and scoring of the GED for all states that accept the GED.
