Library Facilities
The Lassen Library District is located in a single story, 11,100 square foot building in the heart of Susanville, California. The library has a collection of more than 43,000 items.
Main Reading Room
The Main Reading Room is the central area of the library. It contains all of the library’s collections, the public access computing area, magazine and newspaper reading area, microfilm reading station, a Teen Area and the Circulation Desk. Four study carrels and several worktables are provided for patron use.
The Children’s Corner is a 1,920 square foot room specially designed with young children in mind. It contains size appropriate furniture for our young patrons and a collection of more than 11,000 age-appropriate books and materials. Pre-school and after-school reading programs are held in the Children’s Corner. Computers are provided to run age-appropriate educational and recreational applications.
Conference Room
A 600 square foot conference room is located off the main lobby area. The conference room occupancy is rated for 20-25 people and can be furnished with up to eight conference tables and chairs, depending on configuration. The conference room has wired and wireless Internet access, and a telephone connection. Audio/visual capabilities include a wide projection, high definition projector, projection screen, surround sound speaker system, VHS/DVD/Blueray players connected to a central audio/visual server.

PearsonVUE Test Center
The PearsonVUE Test Center is a three-room area of the library consistng of the PearsonVUE Administration station, a test delivery stations room and a small meeting room. The test center is where PearsonVUE exams and other proctored exams are administered. The small meeting room is used as a tutoring area and for miscellaneous meetings.
The Back Office area is an "employees only" area in which are located the offices of the Library Director, the Administrative Assistant, the Literacy Program staff and a Cataloger's station where collection items are received, researched, prepared, repaired and added/removed from the Library's catalog. A staff break room and the library's telecommunications, network and computer servers room round out the Back Office area.
